Distributor Weltkino has released the German trailer for 'Wiener Blues – The Loneliest Man in Town.' The Austrian film by Tizza Covi and Rainer Frimmel competed for the Golden Bear at the 76th Berlinale in February. The directing duo works with non-professional actors and blends fiction with documentary.
At its center is Viennese blues musician Al Cook, who plays a version of himself. He has never got over his wife's death and lives a reclusive life among books, records and videotapes. When a property company plans to demolish his building, he has to sort through his belongings and start over. Brigitte Meduna, Alfred Blechinger and Flurina Schneider also star.
The film was shot on 16mm and runs just under 90 minutes. It opens in German cinemas on Nov. 19.
