Air strikes on Yemen's capital Sanaa on Monday killed one person and injured 12, according to the Houthi-run health ministry. It said a salt factory in Hamdan district and a house were hit, with a woman and three children injured in the latter. The Houthis' media center blamed Saudi Arabia; there was no immediate comment from Riyadh. Strikes were also reported in Taiz and Saada province.
The US Embassy in Saudi Arabia told Americans: "Please take extreme caution when using all major airports in Saudi Arabia," citing Sunday's attacks on airports in Riyadh and Dammam. CBS reported the capital's airport has been hit four times in five days and has been closed since Saturday. Riyadh schools were asked to move classes online this week, and firms in the financial district told staff to work remotely. President Donald Trump said of possible US strikes in Yemen: "We're gonna look at it."
Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to the UAE's rulers, called for "joint Gulf action" against attacks by Iran and allied groups, saying Gulf security is "indivisible." Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said Tehran was "deeply concerned" about developments on the Arabian Peninsula. The Houthi-run health ministry says at least 272 people have been killed in Yemen since early September.
