Several shots were fired at a single-family home in Berlin's Reinickendorf district early on Sunday, police said. Residents of the Märkisches Viertel neighbourhood heard the gunfire at around 7 a.m. and called police. Two people reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle.
Officers found bullet holes in the facade of the house. No one was injured, according to police. The investigation into criminal damage and weapons offences has been taken over by the State Criminal Police Office's special unit BAO Ferrum, set up about a year ago in response to a wave of shootings linked to organised crime.
It is the second such incident within days. On Friday, several shots were fired at the glass entrance of a family home in Rudow in the Neukölln district, police said; no one was hurt there either. It was not known whether the cases are connected, and no arrests were reported.
