Manchester City beat Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield on Sunday. The Premier League heavyweight clash was goalless until Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch was sent off for a second yellow card in the 62nd minute after a foul on Jeremy Doku.
City struck quickly. Erling Haaland scored in the 65th minute and substitute Doku curled in a second three minutes later. Rayan Cherki completed the scoring in the 78th minute after a team move.
Enzo Maresca's side top the table with 18 points from six games, three ahead of Arsenal. Andoni Iraola's Liverpool were without injured forwards Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo and midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai. According to NBC Sports, it was City's first game since an independent commission found the club guilty of breaching financial rules, a ruling City have appealed.
