Bayern Munich will be without Luis Díaz for now. The club said Thursday afternoon that tests by its medical staff showed a small muscle tear in the back of his left thigh. Bayern did not give a timeline for his return.
The Colombian was hurt in the 2-2 Champions League draw with Arsenal. Díaz had felt problems before the game and started on the bench. He came on for Ismael Saibari in the 68th minute, sat down on the field shortly before the end and was taken off in the 90th. Coach Vincent Kompany said before the match: "We are happy that he is even available."
The injury comes at a bad time: Díaz scored a hat trick in a win over RB Leipzig last weekend. Bayern visit Freiburg in the Bundesliga on Sunday (17:30 local time). Jamal Musiala is also still unavailable, according to the reports.
