Morgenthal Frederics presented its fall/winter 2026 collection on 15 October, the first under the creative direction of John Juniper and Jeff Solorio. The pair founded the eyewear brand Dita in Los Angeles in 1995. Handcrafted in Japan, the frames carry the design codes of the house's well-known buffalo horn models over to acetate and titanium: hand-etched surfaces, historically inspired metalwork, discreet brand symbols on lenses and nose pads, and purple temple tips on some styles.
New shapes include the voluminous Signal Sun sunglasses and Scratch, which combines acetate and titanium, according to Glossy. "We deliberately resisted the idea of change for its own sake," Solorio told the trade outlet, adding that horn remains "the pinnacle of the collection". The "Heritage in Motion" campaign was photographed by Darren Gwynn.
The company traces its roots to Frederics Opticians, founded in Manhattan in 1913, and has carried its current name since 1986. It belongs to New Look Vision Group, which also owns Robert Marc, and runs 13 boutiques in the US. Collaborations with luxury labels, not yet named, are planned for 2027, along with a custom horn frame programme.
