U.S. President Donald Trump's approval rating has fallen to its lowest level in either of his two terms. Just 31% of U.S. adults approve of his performance, according to a four-day Reuters/Ipsos poll that closed on Monday, down one point from two weeks earlier.

Among registered voters, Democrats hold a clear lead ahead of the Nov. 3 congressional elections: 47% said they would back Democrats and 35% Republicans, the widest gap of the current election cycle, according to Reuters. Many respondents were worried about high gasoline prices.

The online poll surveyed 1,679 adults, including 1,279 registered voters, with a margin of error of about 2 and 3 percentage points respectively. Republicans are defending their majorities in the House and Senate.
