James Maddison curled Tottenham ahead in the 14th minute on Monday in his first competitive start since May 2025. Jack Rudoni equalised for Frank Lampard's Coventry early in the second half before Omar Marmoush scored his first goal for the club and Ben Davies added a third in the sixth minute of stoppage time.

"I am delighted for the result, the attitude, the spirit and the reaction after the goal we conceded," Spurs coach Roberto De Zerbi told the BBC. "I just wanted to show my quality and show what the team's missed in the last 18 months since my last start," Maddison said. Dejan Kulusevski returned as a late substitute.

The win lifts Tottenham to six points and 16th place, above Coventry, who sit one point above the relegation zone. "I thought we were really good in the first half," Lampard said. Tottenham visit Chelsea on Saturday.
