The Perth International Burlesque Festival is celebrating its 13th edition this year, running from 9 to 24 October in Perth and regional Western Australia. Festival director Jessica Gough calls the anniversary her "magical lucky 13". After regional shows in Margaret River and Geraldton, the final festival week now takes place in Perth.

An opening night in the city is scheduled for 23 October, followed on 24 October by the "Club Burlesque Gala". Headliners are Raquel Reed from Las Vegas, Kitty Obsidian from Melbourne and Kelly Ann Doll from Sydney, each debuting new acts for the festival.

The programme mixes burlesque, cabaret and variety with local talent. Touring to regional towns is "about bridging that gap", says Gough, who grew up in Karratha. All events are strictly 18+.
