Two 18-year-old suspects in an alleged homophobic attack at Berlin's Alt-Mariendorf subway station have turned themselves in, police said Monday. Police had released surveillance camera images on Friday and asked the public for help; the photos have since been withdrawn.

According to police, the pair allegedly approached a 30-year-old man on the U6 platform at around 11 p.m. in late August 2025 over his colorful clothing and insulted him, including with homophobic slurs. They are then alleged to have pushed and hit him, knocked him to the ground and kicked him. Police said the man suffered bruises and contusions, and a woman and a man who tried to intervene were also injured.

The investigation is ongoing. The two young men are presumed innocent.
