After Eintracht Frankfurt released sporting director Markus Krösche, attention has turned to AC Milan. Transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano said Sunday that the Italian club was in advanced talks to appoint the 46-year-old as head of football, and Gazzetta dello Sport also sees him as the favorite. No move has been confirmed.
In the search for a successor, Christoph Spycher is in “pole position,” according to broadcaster Hessischer Rundfunk. The 48-year-old is sporting director at Young Boys in Bern, is a former Eintracht player and is considered close to coach Adi Hütter. Hr also named Joti Chatzialexiou and Marco Neppe among other candidates. CEO Axel Hellmann is overseeing sporting matters on an interim basis.
Krösche intends to say farewell in person at the club’s members’ meeting on Monday evening. “It is important to me to say goodbye there in person,” hessenschau quoted him as saying.
