The design fair Design Miami Paris opens on 20 October with previews for members and collectors and is open to the public from 21 to 25 October, alongside Art Basel Paris. The venue for the fourth edition is the Hôtel de Maisons on Rue de l'Université, an 18th-century mansion that was home to generations of the Pozzo di Borgo family and later to Karl Lagerfeld. More than 20 galleries fill its salons, courtyard and garden.

According to Sortiraparis, Galerie Mitterrand is showing works by Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne, and Laffanour | Galerie Downtown designs by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand. Galerie Patrick Seguin is installing a demountable 1944 house by Jean Prouvé outdoors. The programme also includes a bench by Pierre Renart, a swing installation by Irene Cattaneo and artist jewellery.

For the second time, Apple and the fair present "Designers of Tomorrow", curated by Rodman Primack. The four designs come from Cairo, New York, Seoul and Mexico: a lantern built from stacked date palm fronds, a chair fringed with more than 1,500 ceramic beads, a table made from around 5,000 veneer sheets and a folding stainless-steel seating set. "Good design minds are always, fundamentally, surprising," Primack told Wallpaper.
