Canelo prepares for Mbilli in Usyk's gym in Gandía, Spain
Ahead of his WBC title fight with Christian Mbilli in Riyadh on 31 October, Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez is training in Oleksandr Usyk's gym – with Eddy Reynoso still in charge.

Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez is preparing for his fight with WBC champion Christian Mbilli in Gandía, Spain – in heavyweight Oleksandr Usyk's gym. Eddy Reynoso remains his trainer. Ringside24 reports this, citing an interview the Mexican gave to The Ring's Mike Coppinger.
According to the report, Álvarez described himself and Usyk as good friends and said he was the one who asked whether he could train at Usyk's gym. Usyk's team works on his preparation according to Reynoso's requirements.
Mbilli defends his super middleweight title in Riyadh on 31 October. Álvarez last fought in September 2025, losing a unanimous decision to Terence Crawford, Infobae notes.
