Brace against Paderborn – Füllkrug fed up with Germany question: “Would be cool if …”

Werder Bremen came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with SC Paderborn. Niclas Füllkrug scored both Bremen goals: in the 59th minute from an Eren Dinkçi assist and in the 65th from a handball penalty. According to dpa, they were his fifth and sixth goals in his last five Bundesliga games; Werder have now taken points after trailing 2-0 in three consecutive matches.
In his DAZN interview, the 33-year-old did not want to discuss the national team again. “And if I've now said 44 times that I don't want to talk about it,” Füllkrug said, “it would be cool if we stopped talking about it.” He said he was “always very respectful with the media” and would find it “cool” if the media also started respecting him.
Coach Daniel Thioune praised his striker: “Credit where credit is due: Niclas has been outstanding for weeks.” Füllkrug has not featured in Klopp's squads so far; DFB sporting director Rudi Völler recently said the door remained open.
