Copenhagen-based Ganni and Canadian sportswear brand Lululemon have launched their first joint collection. The 22 pieces span womenswear, accessories and footwear and have been available worldwide since 15 October on both brands' websites and in selected stores in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. The collaboration was announced on 8 October.

The starting point was 1980s dance films. "80s dance movies have been part of my life since I was a child, so they felt like such a natural starting point," said Ganni creative director Ditte Reffstrup. Lululemon's technical fabrics such as Nulu and Softstreme are combined with Ganni signatures: ruffle trims, leopard print and bold colour pairings. Lululemon's Define jacket, for example, is reinterpreted, alongside leg warmers, boleros and headbands. According to Marie Claire, prices range from 110 dollars for a top to 280 dollars for a midi dress.

The campaign "Joy Is a Power Move" features actor Jennifer Beals, who became famous with "Flashdance", and singer and dancer Mette in a dance studio. The campaign film can be watched on Lululemon's official YouTube channel.
