Blueprint to download: RoboParty opens up its RP1 humanoid
The Shanghai start-up has published design files, circuit boards, parts lists and trained motion policies for its bipedal robot, allowing researchers to build the humanoid themselves.

Shanghai robotics start-up RoboParty this week published the designs of its humanoid robot RP1 (also called ROBOTO 01). GitHub now hosts 3D models and drawings of the manufactured parts, circuit-board production files, wiring information and bills of materials, along with control software, firmware, simulation models and training tools. The robot comes in two configurations with 24 and 28 degrees of freedom.
With its MimicLite package, RoboParty also supplies trained motion policies for both versions. According to the company, RP1 can walk continuously, recover from pushes, get up after a fall and track human motion. Its own hardware designs are licensed under CERN-OHL-W-2.0 and the documentation under CC BY-SA 4.0. The company did not give a price for the robot.
RoboParty presented RP1 at the end of September at the IROS robotics conference in Pittsburgh. According to the industry outlet Gasgoo, the start-up had raised nearly 500 million yuan by mid-July, with backers including battery maker CATL and Xiaomi. By opening up the robot, RoboParty wants to give researchers access to every layer – from the mechanics to the AI control.
