Real Madrid demanded in an official statement on Friday that LaLiga president Javier Tebas resign immediately. The statement followed a social media post in which Tebas wrote, according to AFP, that the “method” of Madrid's media recalls propaganda mechanisms exploited by Goebbels. In the same post he clarified that the comparison referred to those techniques, “not to an ideology.” The club called the remark “absolutely intolerable” and also demanded that Tebas step down as vice president of the Spanish federation. Tebas called it “intimidation,” RPP reported.

Coach José Mourinho said Saturday, ahead of Sunday's home game against Sevilla (1900 GMT), that Tebas had entered territory where he “only has an excuse if it is a clinical case,” according to EFE. He said he would not say more “because there are limits.”

Real Madrid is six points behind leader Barcelona, which has won all eight games and visits Real Betis on Saturday (1630 GMT).
