Manchester City hosts Ipswich Town on Saturday (1400 GMT). A win would make Enzo Maresca the first Premier League manager to win his first seven games in charge, according to AFP. His predecessor Pep Guardiola started 2016-17 with six wins. City leads the table with six wins from six games, three points ahead of champion Arsenal, but lost 4-2 to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League this week.
An independent commission found City guilty of more than 100 breaches of Premier League financial rules, AFP reported. The club denies wrongdoing and is appealing. Maresca said the club, fans and team have become “more together” since. “I trust the club 100%,” he said, according to Hayters.
Maresca said he spoke with Guardiola after the PSG game, Guardiola's first visit to the stadium since leaving in the summer. “This will always be his house,” Maresca said.
