The design and art fair PAD London opened with a collectors' preview on 13 October; after the VIP opening on 14 October it is open to the public from 15 to 18 October. According to jewellery site Something About Rocks, 66 exhibitors from 15 countries are taking part in the tent on Berkeley Square in Mayfair. Frieze London and Frieze Masters are running at the same time in Regent's Park.

Jewellers are strongly represented: Buccellati shows jewellery and silver objects on a stand designed by Chahan Minassian, Elie Top presents ancient diamonds from the Greek island of Kythira, and Nikos Koulis makes his PAD debut. Buccellati CEO Nicolas Luchsinger said the fair is an opportunity to bring jewellery and silverware "into a broader cultural context".

On the furniture side, Wallpaper* reports that gallery Objects with Narratives is showing work by Mexico-based designer Manuel Bano in stainless steel, brass and recycled copper. "There is an honesty to metal," Bano said. According to Elle Decoration, gallery Bessa Pereira focuses on Brazilian modernist seating by Joaquim Tenreiro and Carlo Hauner.
