At least 94 people have been killed and 33 wounded in armed attacks and security operations in southeastern Iran since 31 March, the US-based human rights organisation HRANA reported on Monday. It said the clashes were becoming more frequent and involved heavier weapons.

Iranian authorities also arrested lawyer Amirsalar Davoudi on Sunday while he was attending a hearing in Isfahan, CBS News reported, citing the legal monitor Dadban. He had helped organise and publicise a prison marriage on the eve of a protester's execution. HRANA confirmed the arrest and said his whereabouts were unclear.

HRANA reported last week that at least 2,003 people were executed in Iran between October 2025 and early October 2026, a 29 percent increase on the previous period. They included 69 political or security-related executions, 35 of them linked to the January 2026 protests. UN experts have called Iran the world's "most prolific executioner" per capita.
