Ahead of the main event between Joaquin Buckley and Mike Malott on Saturday, October 17, at Rogers Place in Edmonton, a bout with title implications is on the card: Erin Blanchfield faces Jasmine Jasudavicius at women's flyweight. That is according to the UFC's preview.
According to the UFC, Blanchfield is 14-2 and has won eight of her nine UFC fights; in her last appearance in Edmonton she beat Rose Namajunas on points. Canada's Jasudavicius is a top-10 fighter in the division. At the last Edmonton event she won by submission over Ariane da Silva, and in April she beat Karine Silva on points.
For the next title shot against champion Natália Silva, who won the belt at UFC 332 in early October, Alexa Grasso currently leads the way after beating Manon Fiorot at Noche UFC, the UFC says. An added twist: Jasudavicius once handed Fatima Kline her first career loss – Blanchfield's main training partner and close friend.
