Data as of: As of 13 October 2026, 07:30 (Berlin)

Total of projects with stated value167.7EUR m
New entries since 12 Oct morning (public funding only)1
Industrial output Aug 2026, year on year−5.4% −5.40 %
New jobs (stated)530

Since Monday morning (12 October), authorities, the statistics office NSI and media in Bulgaria have reported no new investment project with an amount or jobs, and no plant closure or layoffs. The table totals are unchanged: projects with a stated value add up to EUR 167.7m, and stated new jobs number 530.

The only new figure comes from the municipalities. At a meeting of mayors and state officials in the resort of Albena (Dobrich province), it was reported that over 560 payments for more than 300 municipal projects were made in one month – EUR 101m in total (BTA, 12 October). That is more than a tenth of everything paid out under the state Investment Programme in two and a half years. Contracts have been signed for 2,370 of 3,492 projects. This is public funding, not a new company project, so it is not counted in the total.

US mission: Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Alexander Poulev is in the US from 11 to 16 October with 30 representatives of 20 defence and high-tech firms. By Tuesday morning no contracts, memoranda or amounts had been announced. Separately, Prime Minister Rumen Radev received a US business delegation from security, defence, technology and energy in Sofia on Monday – also without concrete projects.

Key date: on Wednesday, 14 October, the NSI publishes final September inflation. The flash estimate was 5.6% year on year and −0.3% versus August. The latest industry data are from 9 October: output in August was 5.4% below a year earlier.

Only 29,000 new US jobs in September: investors now see little chance of a Fed rate hike this month. Tech stocks led the gains.
