Sofia bourse starts week slightly lower – Neohim down 4% after plant outage
SOFIX fell 0.23% to 1,528.80 points on turnover of about €650,000. Neohim shares lost 4.07% after units were shut down. No result of the Eurohold shareholder meeting has been published yet.
The Bulgarian Stock Exchange started the week with small losses. The main index SOFIX fell 0.23% on Monday, 12 October, to close at 1,528.80 points. BGTR30 (30 equally weighted shares) slipped 0.14% to 1,159.33 and the real-estate index BGREIT 0.51% to 242.75. Only BGBX40 (the 40 most liquid shares) gained, up 0.09% to 248.40. Total turnover was almost €650,000, of which about €429,000 on the main market.
The biggest drop among larger companies was fertiliser maker Neohim: –4.07% to €16.50. On Sunday the company reported an unplanned shutdown of its nitric acid unit, together with the linked ammonium nitrate unit and turbogenerator station. According to Investor.bg, the notice gave neither the cause nor a repair timeline. Chimimport fell 4%, Doverie United Holding 1.42% to €6.94 and Monbat 2.04% to €0.96.
The most traded share was the real-estate fund FNIB, with 52 trades worth about €77,700; its price fell 2.16% to €2.72. Next came the exchange's own shares (+0.53% to €7.54), First Investment Bank and Shelly Group (+0.15% to €65.70). Eurohold Bulgaria rose 0.63%. Whether Eurohold's extraordinary shareholder meeting, called for 12 October with an item on leaving the exchange, took a decision was not known in the morning: the company's website only shows the invitation and materials.
Energy stocks again saw no trades. Petrol's last price is €0.316 from 8 October, and Toplivo's is €4.20 from 28 September.
