Paulo Costa (16-4) wants to fight again in 2026 – possibly outside the UFC. "Nothing from the UFC," the Brazilian wrote on X on October 12. "I'm going to fight at an event at the end of the year." Sherdog reported the posts.
According to Sherdog, the background is a dispute over the terms of the final bout on Costa's UFC contract. The former title challenger has criticised the UFC for offering him five-round fights without additional pay. He had recently pushed for an interim light heavyweight title fight, which did not materialise.
Costa is on a two-fight winning streak, with victories over Roman Kopylov and Azamat Murzakanov. The report cites no UFC response to the dispute.
