Yemen’s Houthis said they struck Saudi Arabia’s Ras Tanura refinery with a ballistic missile on Oct. 27. “The strike was accurate,” Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree said. The U.S. think tank ISW said it was the first such claim in the 2026 fighting and could not be verified. Saudi Arabia’s Joint Forces Command reported intercepting five ballistic missiles and four drones that day, including over Riyadh.

Houthi political official Mohammed Ali al-Houthi said Egypt “declares war against the Republic of Yemen” with its support for Saudi Arabia. Egypt’s parliament on Monday approved military support for the kingdom with the required two-thirds majority. President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said the mission is defensive and “does not include an attack on Yemen.”
