The UFC announced the main event of its Sydney card on Tuesday: Quillan Salkilld faces Benoît Saint-Denis at lightweight on 6 February 2027 at the Afterpay Arena. For the 13-1 Australian it is a first UFC headliner in front of a home crowd, having already headlined in Las Vegas in August. No other bouts had been announced at the time.

Salkilld came to the UFC through the Contender Series in 2024 and, according to Cageside Press, has finished five of his six UFC opponents, including Beneil Dariush and Jamie Mullarkey. Most recently, in August in Las Vegas, he beat Mateusz Gamrot by first-round rear-naked choke.

Saint-Denis (17-4) is looking to bounce back from defeat: at UFC 329 in July he lost to Paddy Pimblett by first-round submission. His UFC wins include victories over Dan Hooker, Mauricio Ruffy and Dariush.
