Atalanta were held to a 4-4 draw by Frosinone in the eighth round of Serie A on Sunday. Schmid gave the visitors the lead inside the first minute and later scored again to make it 2-1 for Frosinone. Krstović scored twice for Atalanta, with Ederson adding a penalty and Elmas also on target; Calò (48th) also scored for Frosinone before Terzić equalized in the 82nd minute. Atalanta led 3-2 at halftime.
Home fans whistled as the teams left the field, mainly at coach Maurizio Sarri. He blamed his team: "The first two goals we conceded were obvious gifts, trivial but huge mistakes," he told ANSA. He said he understood the crowd's disappointment, which was "ours too," adding that the fans had backed the team passionately for 95 minutes.
Sarri was also self-critical about his substitutions, saying that "given how things went, the choice was not right." Atalanta have 10 points after eight games.
