"I am world champion right now, but I have to prove that I am #1," Christian Mbilli says in training-camp footage released by DAZN, British Boxing News reports. The unbeaten, Montreal-based Frenchman warned Flashscore: "If he's expecting an easy night, he'll be the first to pay the price."
Trainer Marc Ramsay said: "We really believe that we can do something with this fight." Saúl "Canelo" Álvarez was just as confident speaking to The Ring: "I'm a winner, and I'm going to win on October 31, for sure."
Mbilli's promoter Camille Estephan told Sky Sports he is "very confident the fight goes ahead". Mbilli defends his WBC super middleweight title on October 31 in Riyadh; DAZN broadcasts on pay-per-view.
