Burgas is preparing to welcome thousands of fans of the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest. The fan village is to be built on a large site near the Sea Station on the waterfront and, with concerts and open-air events, is expected to be one of the busiest locations during the contest, BNT reported on Monday (Oct. 12). Scrap metal from former port warehouses has already been removed; the site is to be fully cleared soon so that the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) can approve the location. The final design will be presented shortly.

Mayor Dimitar Nikolov called it the most suitable location because it is right next to the city center and close to the railway station, bus station and Sea Garden. Transport Minister Georgi Peev pledged full support; train and air links with Istanbul and Sofia were discussed. Burgas is counting on state support for more flights to its airport. In August, the government had already pledged 20 million euros for the preparations.
