The AfD stands at 40 percent in Brandenburg in a new INSA poll commissioned by the Märkische Allgemeine, Märkische Oderzeitung and Lausitzer Rundschau newspapers, up six points from INSA's March survey. Premier Dietmar Woidke's SPD loses four points to 20 percent, half the AfD's figure.
Coalition partner CDU drops five points to 9 percent, level with the Left (up 2). The Greens (up 2) and the BSW (down 1) each have 7 percent; the BSW won 13.5 percent in the 2024 state election. The governing SPD-CDU coalition would thus be far short of a majority: the SPD, CDU, Left, Greens and BSW would together reach 52 percent, meaning an alliance of all the other parties would be needed to keep the AfD out of power.
