After international injury: Schlotterbeck scores, Beier shines in 2-2 with Werder
Two Klopp talking points in Dortmund’s game: Nico Schlotterbeck headed the 2-0 after the injury he picked up with Germany, while the overlooked Maximilian Beier set up the opener.

Nico Schlotterbeck left the national team early in October with an ankle ligament injury confirmed by the DFB. He was fit in time for the Bundesliga restart against Werder Bremen and headed in the 2-0 in the 85th minute on Friday night. Goals from Ludovit Reis and Niclas Füllkrug made it 2-2 in the end. “We actually had everything under control until the 88th minute,” Schlotterbeck said according to dpa.
Maximilian Beier, whom head coach Jürgen Klopp did not call up in October, also caught the eye. Deployed on the right, he won the ball before Daniel Svensson’s opener (80). Spox gave him a grade of 2 and wrote in a comment that in this form Klopp will “sooner or later not be able to ignore” him.
Klopp will name his squad for the final Nations League matches on 13 November in Belgrade against Serbia and on 16 November in Berlin against the Netherlands. The match highlights come from the official “Bundesliga” YouTube channel.
