Former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson is siding with Tyson Fury ahead of the 11 December fight in Cardiff, for a personal reason. "Tyson's named after me – I'm always with Tyson," he said in an interview with Piers Morgan published on YouTube, according to Boxing News. It "would be nice" if Fury won, he added, without giving any boxing reasons.

According to Boxing News, Fury goes in as a clear favourite after a points win over Arslanbek Makhmudov and a stoppage of Mariusz Wach. Joshua was knocked down twice before stopping Kristian Prenga in the second round in July.

Derek Chisora has criticised the title on the line. "Tyson Fury and AJ should fight for the British title, that's it," he told The Stomping Ground, according to Boxing News. "They've both lost to a real champion and then suddenly we should give them a WBA Super title, for what reason?" Chisora himself is set to face Murat Gassiev in December, who according to Boxing News now appears to hold only the WBA 'Regular' belt.
