Peter Maffay and Johannes Oerding are at number one on the Official German Album Chart, published by GfK Entertainment on 9 October, with their joint album ‘Nashville’. According to Musikwoche, it is Maffay's 22nd number-one album and Oerding's fourth. Sony Music speaks of the highest-grossing album start and the biggest physical release-week start since Herbert Grönemeyer's ‘Mensch’ (2002); more than 50,000 bundles of album and ticket for the 2027 tour have been sold.
They are followed by Danger Dan with ‘Keine Angst’ (new at 2), the reissue of the Beatles' ‘Rubber Soul’ (3) and Amon Amarth with ‘The Allfather Awakens’ (new at 4). Reinhard Mey drops from 1 to 7 with ‘Schatzhauser’. On the singles chart, Taylor Swift leads with ‘Patient Zero’ ahead of Shakira and Burna Boy's ‘Dai Dai’; the highest new entry is Provinz with ‘Cry Baby Cry’ at 25.
According to Musikwoche, Maffay commented on the collaboration: “Es war gut, in den Sandkasten zu steigen!” (“It was good to climb into the sandbox!”). Christoph Behm, head of Sony Music for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, called the album “schon jetzt ein Stück deutscher Popkultur” (“already a piece of German pop culture”).
