Deutsche Telekom remains the home of Germany's third division: its MagentaSport service will show all 380 games per season, plus the two relegation playoff games, live and exclusively from 2027-28 through 2030-31, the German Football Association (DFB) announced Friday. At least 38 games per season will also be shown free-to-air, either by Telekom itself or by a partner.
The DFB will earn 124 million euros over the four seasons, about 20% more than in the current cycle. "The award marks the most commercially successful media rights tender in the history of the 3. Liga," DFB general secretary Holger Blask said. It was important "that all games remain available live," he added.
Highlight packages went to public broadcaster ARD with its regional channels and to DAZN, while clip and short-form rights went for the first time to kicker and LEAGUES. "The 3. Liga remains a central part of our entire football strategy," Telekom TV chief Arnim Butzen said.
