Israeli soldiers on Friday destroyed the homes of brothers Ahmad and Hammouda al-Jaabeh in Hebron in the occupied West Bank. On 23 October the two attacked Israeli soldiers near the Farsh al-Hawa checkpoint at the city's western entrance: two soldiers were killed and three wounded, and the attackers were shot dead. The demolition came on the eighth day of the military operation and siege of Hebron.
According to Hebron municipality, 4,969 Palestinians from 780 families have been displaced. At least twelve people were detained near the demolition site, and at least 120 since the operation began. Palestinian expert Raed Nairat, quoted by Al Jazeera, called the demolitions "effectively collective punishment". The report contains no statement from the Israeli army on the demolition.
