Both sides have key players back for Saturday evening's Klassiker. Joshua Kimmich is in Bayern Munich's squad to face Borussia Dortmund, according to a Sky report cited by the website LigaInsider. The captain missed three competitive matches after the death of his father, as sporting director Max Eberl confirmed. He trained with the team again for the first time on Friday, and it remains unclear whether he will start.
Dortmund also have a returning player: 18-year-old Konstantinos Karetsas is in the travelling squad, Sky reported. He had missed three competitive matches with ankle ligament damage and returned to team training on Thursday. Dortmund coach Niko Kovac had planned for his full return to training on Friday.
Bayern, however, are without several regulars. Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is out with a tendon irritation in his foot, with Jonas Urbig in goal. Jamal Musiala and Luis Diaz are also missing. Aaron Danks continues to stand in for head coach Vincent Kompany, who still needs rest after a hospital stay.
