Romanian director Florin Șerban won the Golden Leopard at the 79th Locarno Film Festival in August with "You Don't Belong Here" (original title "Nu e locul tău aici"), his first feature in eight years. The International Competition jury praised "the strength of its screenplay, the uniqueness of its vision, and its exceptional command of cinematic language," according to Romania Insider. At the Sarajevo Film Festival, lead actor Adrian Văncică won the best actor award.

The film now comes to Germany: the 75th International Film Festival Mannheim-Heidelberg will screen it Nov. 7 at the Planken Lichtspiele in Mannheim, Nov. 8 at the Luxor Filmpalast in Heidelberg and Nov. 9 at the Cineplex in Mannheim, according to event listings. It follows Marius, who runs the hospital in his hometown and has raised his teenage son Ioan alone since his wife's death, until police suspect Ioan of involvement in a killing. The film runs 154 minutes.

The film opens in Romanian theaters Nov. 27 through distributor Bad Unicorn, after preview screenings at the Les Films de Cannes à Bucarest festival. It will have its U.K. premiere Dec. 2, opening the London program of the Romanian Film Festival in the UK, the Agerpres news agency reported; Șerban is due to attend. No German theatrical release has been announced.
