Manchester United fell behind and were reduced to 10 men in Saturday's early Premier League game at Chelsea. Morgan Rogers put the hosts ahead in the 50th minute, running through United's defense before chipping the ball in. Cole Palmer converted a penalty in the 64th minute to make it 2-0.

The penalty followed a video review: Lisandro Martinez caught Wesley Fofana with a high arm from a corner. Referee Peter Bankes initially waved play on, then awarded the spot kick after checking the footage and showed the Argentine a second yellow card. Only 1 minute and 22 seconds separated his two bookings, according to Yahoo Sports.

TNT Sports commentator Ally McCoist called it "absolutely unacceptable." The match had been seen as pivotal for United coach Michael Carrick and Chelsea's Xabi Alonso. The final score was not yet available at the time of publication.
