Louis Vuitton has appointed Hector Muelas to the newly created position of chief brand creative officer. He takes up the role on 1 November, FashionUnited reports. Muelas joins from Tiffany & Co., where he had been global chief brand and creative officer since August 2023; both houses belong to luxury group LVMH. On LinkedIn he wrote that he was 'grateful for the extraordinary years at Tiffany & Co.' and looked forward to 'the opportunity to begin a new chapter with a Maison so iconic'.

According to nss magazine, Muelas reports directly to Louis Vuitton deputy CEO Damien Bertrand. He is tasked with steering the brand's creative storytelling, from campaigns and content to collaborations and creative partnerships. The magazine asks how the role will fit alongside the creative directors: Louis Vuitton already has Pharrell Williams for menswear and Nicolas Ghesquière for womenswear.

Muelas previously served as chief brand officer at Rimowa, where he led the luggage maker's global relaunch from 2017 to 2019, and as a creative director for worldwide marketing communications at Apple. He first joined LVMH in 2015 as vice president of content and creative. Earlier in his career he worked for the agency Wieden + Kennedy, Creative Artists Agency and Vice Media.
