The Pokémon Company has announced the end of Pokémon Unite: service for the Switch and mobile versions ends on Tuesday, 23 March 2027, at 00:00 UTC. After that, players will no longer be able to log in or battle. Since 27 October, Aeos Gems – the premium in-game currency – can no longer be bought; existing gems can be spent until the end, and according to VGC there will be no refunds. New Unite Club memberships are no longer accepted and automatic renewals have been stopped.

As a farewell, an update with a special event follows on 12 November, letting players obtain Unite licences and outfits (“Holowear”) released so far. A new “library” feature will keep certain records and content viewable after the shutdown – but only if the required data has been downloaded before 23 March. The official notice gives no reason for the closure.

The multiplayer battle game (MOBA) launched on Switch in July 2021 and was one of the disciplines of the official Pokémon tournaments. In July 2026 it was dropped from the 2027 World Championships programme, after which, according to Nintendo Life, speculation about its end began. The Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo tournament will go ahead as planned, with qualifiers starting on 5 December.
