Deutsche Bank reported its third consecutive record quarterly profit on Wednesday. Pre-tax profit rose 8 percent year on year to just over €2.6 billion in the July-September period, the Frankfurt-based lender said. Net profit came to around €1.9 billion, up 2 percent, with just under €1.6 billion attributable to shareholders. Return on equity was 10.6 percent.

The investment bank was again the biggest contributor, with pre-tax profit of almost €1.1 billion, up 12 percent from a year earlier. Pre-tax profit for the first nine months totaled about €8.4 billion; for the whole of 2025 it reached a record of just over €9.7 billion.

"We are pleased to have achieved a record profit for the third quarter in a row," Chief Executive Christian Sewing said. The bank said it was on track to meet its 2026 targets and now expects revenue to exceed roughly €33 billion. It also said it was confident of beating its target of a return on equity above 13 percent for 2028.
