The decisive phase of the Nations League begins for Germany in just over a week. According to dpa's schedule, head coach Jürgen Klopp intends to name his squad for the last two group games on 5 or 6 November, cutting his provisional pool of 44 players to 23 or 24. The squad meets in Herzogenaurach on 9 November.
On 13 November (20:45 CET), Germany play Serbia in Belgrade – behind closed doors. Three days later, on 16 November (20:45 CET), the group finale against the Netherlands follows at Berlin's Olympiastadion. After four games, Germany are third in Group A2 with five points (one win, two draws, one defeat, goals 3-2), three points behind the Netherlands and Greece (eight each). Serbia are bottom without a point.
On 20 November, UEFA will draw the first knockout ties – the quarter-finals or the relegation play-offs in March 2027, depending on final positions. On 6 December, the Euro 2028 qualifying groups will be drawn in Belfast. If Germany do not finish bottom of their Nations League group, they will be among the twelve top seeds, according to dpa.
