A welterweight unification is taking shape: WBO world champion Devin Haney is set to fight IBF champion Liam Paro at San Francisco's Chase Center on December 19. That is according to Mike Coppinger of The Ring, as reported by Sports Illustrated and Boxing News 24. According to Boxing News 24, an official announcement is still to come.

"The bout will be Haney's first of his exclusive multi-fight deal with DAZN," Coppinger wrote. The American recently signed with the streaming service; before that, according to The Ring, a 144-pound catchweight fight with Shakur Stevenson, among others, had fallen through.

Australia's Paro won the IBF welterweight title this year against Lewis Crocker.
