Bulgarian matchmaking platform ClubR has released first results of its “National Survey on the Attitudes of Singles”; news portal Mediapool reported on them on 15 October. By the time of the analysis, 692 people had completed the anonymous online questionnaire. The survey is explicitly not representative and comes from a company that itself organises events for singles. It was launched in December 2025; according to the portal Kreativen.com it was to run until the end of February 2026 and cover ways of meeting people, experience with dating apps and expectations of partners.

For 68.2 per cent of respondents, a long-term relationship is the main goal – 76 per cent of the men taking part and 64.3 per cent of the women. At the same time, 35.2 per cent had not had a single first date in the past 12 months. Among women aged 25 to 39, almost 72 per cent want a committed relationship, yet about a third of them had no first date in the past year. 41.3 per cent of women and 24.3 per cent of men do not use dating apps.

76.3 per cent would take part in speed-dating-style events, including ones with social games; 169 respondents had already been on a date with someone they met at such an event. ClubR co-founder Radoslava Karamihaleva said that, amid fatigue with endlessly swiping through profiles, such formats offer another route to meeting new people. Mediapool points to a similar trend in the US, where Eventbrite data show attendance at singles events rose 42 per cent between 2022 and 2023. Because the organiser itself offers such meet-ups, these figures in particular should be read with caution.
