Berlin-Weissensee: Cyclist, 71, in critical condition after fall

A 71-year-old cyclist fell for unknown reasons in Weissensee and suffered a head injury. Police say he is in a life-threatening condition in intensive care.

A 71-year-old cyclist was seriously injured around midday on Wednesday in Berlin's Weissensee district. According to Berlin police, the man fell at about 12:20 p.m. for reasons that are not yet clear and suffered a head injury. Paramedics took him to hospital.

Police said the man's life is in danger and he is being treated in intensive care. The police report makes no mention of any other road users being involved. Police said the investigation into how the accident happened is continuing.
