Bayer Leverkusen kept their perfect Europa League record on Thursday, winning 2-0 at OFI Crete at the Pankritio Stadium in Heraklion. Jonas Hofmann scored both goals within minutes of each other in the first half, in the 35th and 37th minutes.

The 34-year-old was making his first start of the season after only being added to the European squad on Tuesday following a long-term injury to Martin Terrier. Hofmann followed up a long-range effort from Afonso Moreira for the opener and doubled the lead with a first-time finish from Malik Tillman's pass.

There were no further goals after the break, with OFI goalkeeper Klidman Lilo making several saves. After earlier wins over Celje (2-0) and at Lech Poznan (4-0), Leverkusen have nine points and have yet to concede in the league phase.
