Prime Minister Rumen Radev met representatives of the American-Central European Business Association (ACEBA) on Thursday. According to the government press office, as reported by BNT, he called economic relations one of the pillars of the strategic partnership with the United States. US investment is a priority because it brings advanced technologies, he said. Innovation Minister Ivan Vasilev and Health Minister Katya Ivkova also attended.
Radev pointed to Bulgarian high-tech achievements such as the AI institute INSAIT and satellite maker EnduroSat, which he said had launched three times as many small satellites as all European countries combined. The region's largest space industrial park is to be built 15 kilometres from Sofia. Bulgaria is also a European leader in battery energy storage, he said: construction of a storage park using Tesla technology has begun in Tvarditsa, and work on the country's first AI gigafactory is set to start. Radev named energy and security as existing areas of cooperation and preventive health checks as an opportunity. After eight parliamentary elections in five years, the government now has a stable majority, the prime minister stressed.
