The investigative network Correctiv has published initial findings from its analysis of the AfD data leak. It says the archive released by the hacker group "Hexane" exceeds 280 gigabytes, including about 49,000 documents and 165 databases, with emails dating from March 2013 to 14 September 2026. Because not all of the data carries digital signatures, its authenticity cannot be verified throughout.
According to Correctiv, the correspondence documents plans for a delegation trip to Moscow in February 2019 to meet oligarch Konstantin Malofeyev, announced by then Brandenburg party leader Andreas Kalbitz. The emails do not show whether the trip took place. Stefan Möller, a confidant of Björn Höcke, also reportedly asked all state branches in late August for their classifications by the domestic intelligence agency.
Correctiv says the files also include expulsion proceedings against members who allegedly spread swastika symbols. The AfD confirmed the attack but is not answering questions about the authenticity of individual contents. It described the leak as an "attack on the German party system and thus on democracy".
