WBA No. 1 contender Moussa Gholam faces Britain’s Josh Padley on 12 December at the Salle des Étoiles in the Sporting Monte-Carlo. The 12-round bout is for the WBA interim super featherweight title and is part of ‘Monte-Carlo Showdown VII’ from Ingo Volckmann’s AGON Sports; DAZN broadcasts worldwide.
Gholam, 31, born in Morocco and based in Barcelona, has won 26 of his 27 professional fights, including his last seven. His only defeat was a split decision against Elnur Samedov in December 2022. “This is the chance we’ve been working towards for over 10 years,” Gholam said. Promoter Volckmann said of him: “I have to admit, I’m really impressed with him as a boxer.”
Padley’s only loss came against Shakur Stevenson, with whom he lasted nine rounds, and he has since moved up to super featherweight.
