Alexander Volkanovski heads into UFC 333 fight week with a confident prediction. Speaking at a fan event in Dubai on Sunday, the featherweight champion told MMA Junkie: "I believe I can get a finish. I think I can do it inside the five." He said he would win "in pretty wild fashion".
Challenger Movsar Evloev is unbeaten in 20 professional fights, and according to Sherdog all ten of his UFC wins came by decision. "Trying to out grapple me for 25 minutes, I can't see it," said Volkanovski (28-4), who also considers himself the better striker. After the fight, he said, many will ask whether it was "the best Volk we've ever seen".
The Australian said he has no plans to retire, but does not want to fight another ten times – "maybe a couple". UFC 333 takes place on Saturday, 24 October, at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. According to The National, the public workout is set for Wednesday, the press conference for Thursday and the ceremonial weigh-ins for Friday.
